KSC Position Statement - CAMAC Product Support

Lockport, Illinois ( December 6, 2000) - KineticSystems Company, LLC, is internationally recognized as the leading supplier of CAMAC data acquisition systems, offering high-performance solutions to a broad range of market segments, including basic research, aerospace, defense and industrial manufacturing. Annually, KSC continues to produce a large number of CAMAC products. Since 2000, CAMAC products have contributed approximately one-quarter of the company's revenues. .

Aggressively keeping pace with the industry's rapidly changing technology, KSC continues to provide its customers with the technical assistance, documentation and training required ensuring the smooth operation of their systems. We are highly confident of our ability to continue to provide assembly, production test and product support for these products/systems. Indeed, we have recently completed a major program to upgrade our facility to the latest technology. Since early 2000, we have invested more than $1 million in plant improvements and new production equipment. In addition, we are constantly reviewing and improving our processes for product test and repair. Our technical staff has a combined 125 years experience with KSC product many that include involvement in the original CAMAC product design. KSC continues to supply CAMAC product to several major entities, like General Electric, the Navy and Air Force, Ford Motors and Stanford University to name a few, on high profile projects that required long-term commitments on our part.

Unfortunately, over time, certain components used in the manufacture of KSC products become obsolete. To the extent that an alternative component can be reasonably substituted, KSC will do so. If, for cost or performance reasons, KSC determines a reasonable substitute is not available, KSC will list the affected product on its published price list as "Consult Factory". If a product is listed as "Consult Factory" KSC can pursue a variety of solutions.

Based on future market demand, KSC will initiate a re-design program to bring the product's functionality to current technology while still adhering to the CAMAC specification. Alternately, KSC will work with customers on an individual basis regarding our Smart Spares Pool program. Lastly, KSC can facilitate component lifetime buy or module repurchase agreements to assist our customers with their specific needs.
