Calibration is the process by which a known input-voltage is applied to a channel. That voltage is read from the channel. If the voltage is not the same as the known input-voltage, software is used to apply a correction-equation to the voltage value in order for the resulting value to equal to the known voltage. Software generates calibration coefficients (a slope and an intercept) and saves the values on a per-channel basis. These calibration coefficients are used in the correction-equation.

When Calibration is On and data collection is starting, you should see the "Calibrating" message in the message window (circled below in red):
The next message in the message window will be "Verifying Calibration"
